Analytics DevOps DB Engineer

Analytics DevOps DB Engineer – Trading/PostgreSQL/Cloudbees/Jenkins – Zürich
Project: For our client in the financial services industry, we are looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer.

Tasks:

• Review of the data analytics platform in trading (application for the collection of market and order data)
• Consultation with stakeholders
• Implementation of requirements
• Special focus on improving the performance and stability of the platform
• Operational support and maintenance of the analytics platform
• Collaboration on solution architecture and the expansion and, if necessary, reengineering of the analytics platform in trading (scaling)

Requirements:

• Degree (Uni/FH) in Banking and Finance, Business Administration, Business Informatics or comparable education
• Many years of experience with the conception, configuration and operation of databases with large data sets.
• Time series records an advantage
• Very good experience with PostgreSQL & Timescale DB or comparable technologies
• Experience in optimising databases in terms of query and storage performance
• Experience and integration of applications and databases in the field of data analytics
• Experience in reengineering databases and data platforms and data visualisation
• Willingness for support / on-call
• ETL experience advantageous as is any experience with technologies such as Jupyter, NumPy, Java and Grafana
• Experience and knowledge in FX/PM, equities and fixed income trading desirable
• Development experience with Python & shell scripting – DevOps workflows (Git, Jenkins, CI/CD pipelines)
• Good Linux skills including RPM packaging

Languages:

• English: Fluent (Written and Spoken)
• German would be an advantage but not essential.
