For our customer a big pharmaceutical company in Basel we are looking for a highly qualified Associate/Scientist in Cellular Assays and Automated Cell Culture (m/f/d).

Background:

In our research laboratories we continuously drive to make data driven decisions in early research for lead discovery. We are here offering an opportunity for an Associate/ Scientist with a background and passion for cellular assay and automated cell culture to contribute by experience and diligence in the daily planning, execution and analysis of cellular assays and large scale automation to our joint mission in finding new starting points for drug discovery.

The perfect candidate:
Has an education in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry with more than 3 years of experience in said field. Additionally, the candidate is experienced in working with various cell-based assays, formats and techniques as well as with cell culture automation. Lastly, the candidate is proficient in English and German.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

• Plan, transfer, validate and execute cellular assays
  * Upscale cell culture processes and optimize the banking and QC of the assay ready frozen cells
  * Critical thinking and data analysis and interpretation skills lead the decision making process in assay development
  * Maintain and operate automated cell culture systems to ensure reliable and reproducible results
  * Experience in troubleshooting equipment issues ensures the continuous supply of cells and frozen cell banks across assay groups in lead discovery
  * Embed in a cross-disciplinary team across the functions in lead discovery and enhance the scientific exchange and standard operating procedures

Must Haves:

• Apprenticeship, Bachelor or Master in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry
  * Min. 3 years experience in cellular assays in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry
  * Experienced with various cell-based assays and formats and techniques and are familiar with cell culture automation
  * Strong oral and written communication skills in English and German
  * Thrive in a dynamic, inclusive environment which gives you full accountability for your own contributions and development
  * Resourceful and flexible in problem solving and in working in a collaborative and inclusive manner
  * Attention to detail and the ability to troubleshoot any issues in the assay or automation
