Delphi Developer (m,w,d) – Delphi RAD Studio/ VCL/ FMX – 100%, Zürich

Project: We are seeking an experienced Delphi Developer to modernize the GUI of an established insurance software.

Responsibilities:

• Provide support, guidance, and coaching to internal Delphi developers in modernizing the GUI (Graphical User Interface) of a long-established Delphi-based offer/quote software (Client/Server).
• Collaborate with the development team to update the GUI’s „Look and Feel,“ aiming for a more modernized user interface while preserving the existing application architecture.
• Assist in the customization and utilization of styles to enhance the application’s visual appearance.
• Utilize advanced object-oriented programming (OOP) skills to improve the codebase and implement refactoring techniques.
• Demonstrate proficiency in working with DB communication objects (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MS-SQL) and optimizing application performance.
• Familiarity with transferring the application from VCL (Visual Component Library) to FMX (FireMonkey) frameworks.
• Knowledge and experience in transferring the application from Delphi to Java.
• Collaborate with the team to optimize the application’s speed and performance.
• Work with visual connectors, such as LiveBinding Designs, to enhance the application’s visual connectivity.
• Exhibit strong soft skills and effective communication to effectively collaborate with team members.

Requirements:

• Minimum 10 years of experience in application development using Embarcadero Delphi RAD Studio, including proficiency in the latest version, RAD Studio 11.3 Alexandria (released on February 27, 2023).
• Proficiency in GUI development using VCL and FireMonkey (FMX).
• Experience in utilizing and customizing styles to enhance the application’s visual appearance.
• Advanced knowledge of object-oriented programming (OOP) concepts.
• Experience with styles and manifests.
• Advanced knowledge of DB communication objects (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MS-SQL).
• Proficiency in refactoring and code-reading techniques.
• Familiarity with transferring applications from VCL to FMX frameworks.
• Familiarity with transferring applications from Delphi to Java.
• Knowledge and experience in optimizing application speed and performance.
• Familiarity with visual connectors, such as LiveBinding Designs.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a communicative personality.

Languages:

• English – fluent
• German language skills are advantageous
