For our customer Roche Diagnostics International AG based in Rotkreuz we are looking for a highly qualified Development Engineer Sensor Cartridge (m/f/d)

Background:

Roche Diagnostics is providing Point-of-Care BGE systems for the measurement of blood gases, electrolytes and metabolites in human blood samples. In our R&D Chapter „BGE Sensors Reagents & Processes“ we develop and transfer to production novel sensor cartridges – functional consumables for multiple measurements – as one of the core system components. To strengthen our interdisciplinary team, we are looking for a competent Development Engineer Sensor Cartridge .

The perfect candidate has at least a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or material science and minimum 3 years of work experience in a manufacturing company, preferably in the medical device industry. A strong background in designs of complex consumable parts, preferably with an intended use as/with medical devices is required. At least 3 years of experience with injection molding of plastic consumables and related further production processes like gluing, bonding or packaging.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

• In this role you work in an interdisciplinary team of development engineers and in close collaboration with the sensor production and external suppliers. Your main responsibilities will consist of (but not limited to):
  * You coordinate and align with external suppliers of injection molded parts the design, design optimization, and delivery of parts during product development projects.
  * You define the content of specifications (e.g. TRQ’s, specification of dimensions to test incoming goods) for parts and the whole cassette and support with their implementation in the respective documentation.
  * You contribute to the verification of the respective parts and the whole cassette in both planning and test execution (incl. reporting in systems like e.g. RETINA).
  * You contribute to the definition of the labeling and packaging of the component.
  * You support the design transfer to Operations with respect to parts (BoM in SAP) and activities and projects to ramp up production (e.g. with equipment specification or automation of processes).

Must Haves:

• Technical training: Bachelor or Master degree in mechanical engineering, material science or a comparable discipline
  * At least 3 years of work experience in a manufacturing company preferably in the medical device industry
  * Strong background in designs of complex consumable parts preferably with an intended use as/with medical devices
  * At least 3 years of experience with injection molding of plastic consumables and related further production processes like gluing, bonding, packaging
  * Enjoy the combination of technical work and coordinating tasks
  * Good, target group-oriented communication skills.
  * Highly motivated to deliver results and find passion in promoting and driving fast-paced and ambitious projects.
  * Fluent in English and German both written and spoken.

Nice to have:

• IT skills: SAP material management
  * Professional skills as product quality engineer and/or in manufacturing automation
  * Professional background in medical device industry
