For our customer Roche Diagnostics International AG based in Rotkreuz we are looking for a highly qualified Junior Research Associate.

Background:
The candidate will be part of dynamic and multinational teams of scientists and research associates working on novel cancer immunotherapy molecules. Your main focus will be the planning, execution and reporting of in vitro and ex-vivo biological assays to characterize the activity of new molecules as well as to support forward genetic screens and help characterize new targets. In this role, you will be working across two teams within two different laboratories. One team consists of 4 members and the second consists of 6 members. Both laboratories focus on cell cultures using slightly different methods. The perfect candidate: The perfect candidate has a master’s in biology or biochemistry as well as, two years of work experience within Immunotherapy or Immunology related fields

Tasks & Responsibilities:
* Establish and perform in vitro characterization of the activity of novel immunotherapies (e.g. binding assay, tumor cell lysis, immune cell and reporter cell activation, proliferation, cytokine
secretion)
* Develop and implement experiments and methods to validate drug targets and investigate the mechanism of action on anti-tumor immunity
* Support forward genetic screening efforts
* Design, execute, analyze and present experiments together with scientists from the team
* Prepare documentation in accordance with Roche guidelines
* Have laboratory manager responsibilities including daily lab routine, ordering supplies and monitoring inventory

Must Haves:
* Bachelor/ Master’s degree in Biology, Immunology, Cell & Molecular Biology or related field
* At least 2 years of work experience Immunotherapy or Immunology related fields
* Extensive experience with mammalian cell culture
* Experience with cell manipulations techniques like CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing, transfection methods and viral transduction
* Hands on experience with phenotypic and functional characterization of cells by FACS, ELISA, Luminex is an advantage
* Knowledge of basic molecular biology techniques (PCR, DNA/RNA isolation, etc.) is a plus
* Fluent in English (both oral and written)
* Good data interpretation and presentation skills
* Ability to work effectively and independently within a team of scientists
* Excellent communication skills, endowed with personal initiative
* Precise and detail oriented working style to provide high quality data
