For our baking client we are seeking an experienced Linux Engineer (m/f/d) with expertise in Disaster Recovery (DR) to join our dynamic clients team. As a Linux Engineer – Disaster Recovery Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the resilience and availability of critical systems, particularly those running on Red Hat Enterprise Linux. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the clients disaster recovery strategy and work closely with application teams to execute DR exercises.

Responsibilities:

• Utilize your in-depth knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux to support our systems‘ disaster recovery efforts.
• Collaborate with Application Teams and Disaster Recovery Project/Coordinator to plan and execute disaster recovery tests.
• Actively resolve and document issues discovered during DR testing, ensuring timely resolution and continuous improvement.
• Leverage tools such as Ansible and Git to automate the DR process, reducing manual effort and enhancing recovery time.
• Utilize backup tools like Netbackup and Networker to facilitate efficient and effective disaster recovery procedures.

Requirements:

• Extensive experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux, demonstrating a strong understanding of its functionalities and administration.
• Knowledge of Disaster Recovery principles and practices, including previous involvement in DR exercises, such as Business Continuity Testing.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Familiarity with automation tools like Ansible and version control systems like Git to streamline the DR process.
• Proficiency in using backup tools such as Netbackup or Networker to support Disaster Recovery operations.
