The role will partner with senior internal and external stakeholders at affiliate and/or global functions to design and develop RWD solutions within the context of the RWD Operating Model and Hub. This role plays a key strategic role in leveraging technology to support RWD initiatives by conceiving, driving and facilitating innovative and extended business models and ways of working with different healthcare ecosystems around the world.
Specifically, the role will bring medical informatics knowledge and leadership, working with stakeholders to identify, develop and support innovative partnerships with select healthcare systems. Successful execution of RWD initiatives will result in deepening of Roche’s RWD capabilities

The perfect candidate:
The perfect candidate has a IT background working in hospital systems or working in clinical operations/trial organizations with knowledge of the EHR, LIMS and eCRF systems. Ideally with experience of creation of medical/clinical patient registry and knowledge of data interoperability standards.

Tasks & Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with key clinical, administrative/business, software, and IT partners to ideate, design, and develop technical RWD solutions
* Aligns desired outcomes of projects with technical and non-technical requirements
* Identifies necessary resources for successful execution of RWD projects ranging from software and IT to clinical workflow specialists
* Mentor and provide guidance regarding health/medical/clinical informatics
* Contributes to RWD strategy efforts by integrating key learnings from projects across the RWD Hub
* Acts as an advocate of the RWD Operating Model and maintains awareness of transformations across Roche
* Bring medical informatics competencies in supporting negotiations with healthcare ecosystems stakeholders to influence and obtain endorsements on new, innovative strategies and solutions
* Support Roche Partnering and IT functions with assessment and due diligence of agreements with external partners and stakeholders
* Conduct market assessments and to identify new capabilities for existing and future RWD and medical informatics needs

Must haves:
* Master degree in Health, Medical, or Clinical Informatics, or equivalent experience
* Min. 5+ years of healthcare industry experience in Clinical Data Management
* Experience in Interoperability standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR) and Healthcare data models (e.g., OMOP, FHIR, SDTM)
* Experience with Terminology and terminology management (e.g., UMLS, SNOMED, BioPortal, terminology services and vendors)
* Hands-on knowledge of hospital clinical information systems (e.g., EHRs, LIMS)
* Experience in External Data Capturing (EDC) with eCRF
* Understanding of HIPAA, PHI, ISO, GDPR and healthcare compliance/regulatory requirements
* Experience in IT or software product delivery, architecture, and cloud technologies/ plattforms
* English fluent (spoken and written)
* Ability supporting negotiations with healthcare ecosystems stakeholders to influence and obtain endorsements on new, innovative strategies and solutions
* Empathetic and partnering skills with ability to assist IT assessment in hospital environment, and ability to assemble agreements with external partners
* Conduct market assessments and to identify new capabilities for existing and future business needs

Nice to Haves:
* Experience with clinical decision support systems (daily practice) in the context of clinical workflow integration
* Demonstrated experience with full life-cycle product management: problem definition and solution discovery, stakeholder buy-in, validation, launch, and ongoing operations
