Für unseren Kunden, ein grosses Pharmaunternehmen mit Sitz in Basel suchen wir einen Research Associate in NGS and Genomics (m/w/d).

Hintergrund:
We are seeking a highly motivated and creative scientist to join the RNA Technologies Group in the Nucleic Acid based Medicine (NABM) Department at Roche. The focus of the position is to build and develop novel therapeutic approaches in the gene therapy space by using high-throughput and next generation sequencing (NGS) methods.

Der/die perfekte Kandidat/in:
The perfect candidate holds a masters degree in molecular biology with 3-7 years of experience in NGS and genomics research. Candidates should be confident with cell culture techniques as well as RNA/DNA extraction/purification.

Hauptaufgaben und Verantwortungsbereiche:
* Routinely plan, design and execute hands-on, with little to no oversight, experiments to develop, optimize and validate either standard or custom NGS or single-cell sequencing workflows and approaches
* Work closely with other laboratory and bioinformatic teams across the pRED organization to optimize and analyze newly implemented and / or developed genomics protocols
* Accountable for delivering high quality NGS data on time and within forecasted budget

Must Haves:
* Master degree in molecular biology, genetics/genomics, cell biology, or related fields.
* 3-7 years of research experience in NGS and genomics research.
* Hands-on expertise in cell culture and in RNA/DNA extraction/purification from cells and tissues.
* In-depth experience with Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) assay development and/or with single-cell genomics technology, from library preparation (Illumina and ONT) to the operation of sequencing instruments.
* Experience with high-throughput and automated liquid handling systems.
* Fluent in English – verbal and written
