For our customer Roche Glycart based in Zürich/Schlieren we are looking for a highly qualified Research Associate (m/f/d)

Background:

As part of the Roche Pharma Research and Early Development organization, the Molecular & Cell Technologies department is dedicated to the research and development of potential new therapeutic candidates in early drug discovery.
We focus on the support of portfolio projects during early, pre-clinical development of potential new therapeutic candidates by designing molecules, engineering tools and supplying molecules and tools. That covers the generation of antibody and antigen expression constructs, optimized expression vectors for antigen supply, antibody format conversion, designing and engineering of recombinant cell lines and protein production at different scales.

Perfect candidate:
The Molecular Technologies group is looking for a research associate who will support the team in operating and optimizing an automated workflow to generate linear DNA fragments and/or plasmids for high-throughput antibody production. You will have the possibility to escort projects from DNA generation, via production to micro purification. You will join a multinational team of highly motivated associates and scientists.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

• Ordering and registration of DNA and proteins
  * Generation of long linear DNA fragments and/or plasmids
  * Sequence analysis and data handling
  * Maintaining, transfecting, cultivating and harvesting mammalian cells
  * Purifying antibodies
  * Operating and maintaining automated workflows
  * Troubleshooting and optimization of existing workflows
  * Regular presentation of the current status and results

Must Haves:

• Master’s degree or equivalent experience in biology or a related field
  * Strong hands-on experience in state-of-the-art cloning techniques
  * Experience in mammalian cell culture and transfection
  * 1+ years‘ experience in a laboratory setting with a focus on molecular biology
  * Experience in protein purification
  * EDV- experience and technical flair (G-Suite or MS Office)
  * Proactive personality and drive to optimize workflows
  * Ability to work independently
  * Excellent organizational and documentation skills
  * Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  * Fluency in English is a must

Nice to have:

• Familiarity with lab automation is a plus
