This position is located in the Investigative Safety and Immunosafety (I2S) chapter where we help providing investigative, mechanistic, discovery immuno/safety profiling across experimental platforms. In particular, we strive to develop new approach modalities (NAMs) for the safety profiling of our next generation therapeutics using functionalized cell-based models. We closely collaborate with our therapeutic areas and global functions and we work along agile working principles that assure flexibility, empowerment and distributed leadership.

The perfect candidate:
You are a talented, enthusiastic and motivated scientist with profound experience in the mass spectrometry-based proteomics field. You possess a publication track record including at least a first-author paper in peer-reviewed journals. You have excellent scientific, communication and organizational skills, fully committed to team effort but able to work in an independent fashion. You bring your own expertise and strategies that you are ready to apply to solve challenging and interdisciplinary project problems in an agile environment.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

• Organize and conduct proteomics analysis in collaboration with stakeholders in the I2S chapter and from the different therapeutic areas and functions, as needed.
  * Plan and discuss the experimental strategy with the stakeholders, team members, and data scientists.
  * Supervise and execute proteomics experiments, including sample preparation, nano LC- MS/MS measurement using high-end mass spectrometric instrumentation, data processing and interpretation.
  * Provide reports, present and discuss detailed data analysis to the stakeholders in a dynamic and flexible manner.

  Must Haves:

• Ph.D. in analytical chemistry, biochemistry, cell biology or a related field
  * A minimum of 3 years experience in proteomics in an academic/industrial environment (post docs)
  * Hands-on expertise in nano liquid chromatography – mass-spectrometry based proteomics is mandatory (documented by publication in a peer-reviewed journal). Experience with Orbitrap MS (Q Exactive, Exploris, and/or Tribrids) is essential, and ion mobility (timsTOF Pro, FAIMS Pro) systems is an advantage
  * Expertise in quantitative proteomics approaches such as TMT, SILAC, acquisition strategies such as data-independant and -dependant acquisition (DIA, DDA), and targeted approaches such as parallel reaction monitoring (PRM)
  * Proficient with common data processing software (Proteome Discoverer, MaxQuant, Spectronaut, PEAKS). Programming (e.g. R/Python) skills are a big plus
  * You have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

Nice to Have:
* Knowledge of Bravo liquid handler
