Senior Business Analyst

Role/Project: For our client in the financial services sector we are looking for a Senior Business Analyst to join their Zurich or Stockholm team to support them with an index migration project. The overall Nordic Index Migration (NIM) project objective is the migration of the Nordic index calculation (real-time & end of day) to the global index calculation system, the implementation of new global index creation and maintenance tools (strategic global index foundation) and the decommissioning of the Nordic legacy systems.

Your tasks and responsibilities:

• Support the specification, development and implementation of a financial software solution for our index business
• Detailed analysis and documentation of requirements and ideas in a structured way and in close alignment with business and IT stakeholders
• Create concepts based on the requirements and your interactions with the team and stakeholders. Present them to a broader audience if required.
• Recording and mapping of the requirements in a heterogeneous system landscape
• Business-side solution specification for the implementation of the new index services and functions
• Close and active collaboration with business, IT and Partners with a strong focus on the end to end solution
• Being a driver and taking ownership on the assigned tasks

You have the following skills and experiences:

• Bachelor’s or higher education degree in Finance, Economics or Computer Science
• At least 6 years of working experience in financial services and as a business analyst, ideally with external partners and remote
• Knowledge of index industry and securities instruments preferred
• Informed about current software architecture developments used in modern financial software
• Versed in using existing database models in order to find your way around a database
• Analytical, technical, problem solving and communication skills are a key strength
• Collaboration skills and experience to perform in a globally spread virtual team, including good knowledge of current collaboration tools (JIRA, Confluence, MS Teams, SharePoint)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (German would be an advantage)
• Experience with agile development projects, working in agile environment and applying lean methods
