Senior DevOps Engineer (m/f/d) – control systems / Jenkins / Azure / GIT / English

Role:

For our client Roche Diagnostic based in Rotkreuz we are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer (m/f/d).

Background:
The DevOps Team is part of the PCR Software Development Chapter (Department). The chapter

supports the organization in creating and maintaining software solutions for our Roche PCR

instruments. The position is within the DevOps Team, which supports all projects in their

standardized but also individual DevOps solutions.

The perfect candidate:

The position we are looking for is a DevOps Engineer with a deep understanding of CI/CD,

automation, source control systems, packaging and deployments. This position will be for the

Instrument Control area (hardware close software). The software in this area is written in C++,

therefore being able to read and understand C++ code is needed. The candidate has to be

communicative, engaged and shall be able to drive individual task to successful completion.

Areas of responsibility:

– Independent delivery of complex, broadly defined DevOps assignments Specification, planning,

implementation, testing, and documentation of these assignments and drafting/definition of tasks

for others

– Independent planning and implementation of complex internal and external sub-projects by

involving several employees, or responsible for an area of technological activity

– Executes with high accountability to schedule and quality

– Participates actively in detailed design, code reviews, bug/issue triage, and supports well[1]informed decisions towards business and engineering goals

– Review expert for other project groups

– Internal and external knowledge transfer

– Active role in the scope of conceptual problem solving

– Defines over-arching concepts for the entire product area

– Closely collaborates with partner teams

– Responsible for driving new technology inputs in the projects

Must Haves:

– At least 4 – 8 years of experience as a Senior DevOps Engineer (Lead position)

– A deep understanding of DevOps, CI/CD, automation, source control systems, packaging and

deployments

– Experience in the following technologies:

o Jenkins, plugins and groovy

o Microsoft Azure DevOps

o Ansible and Terraform

o cMake and batch scripting

o Coding experience in C++

o Linux experience (Debian or Ubuntu)

o Debian packaging and Debian configuration management

o GIT

Nice to Haves:

– Experience within the IVD sector in a DevOps environment, preferred in the

pharmaceutical/medical device industry

– Docker, Kubernetes, LxC and LxD / IaC
