System Specialist – (m, f, d) – 100%, Zürich

Role: For our client a leading Swiss private bank we are looking for an experienced System Specialist. You will join a team in the area of Channels Services and strengthen the team with focus on technical support and onboarding of intermediaries clients (External Asset Managers – EAM).

This is a key role as you will be leading technical change for one or more applications as part of IT Solution Delivery, furthermore you will interact closely with the IT Service Owner to ensure smooth operations. This combination requires the System Specialist to have a broad and deep set of skills and broad end-to-end knowledge (focusing on Software Engineering, Architecture and having a sound understanding of the Financial Industry)

As our client is currently undergoing an agile transformation, you should be familiar with agile delivery models (preferably SAFe). Furthermore they follow a DevOps approach („you build it, you run it“) within banking guidelines.

Areas of responsibility:

• Work together in a cross functional team using agile methodologies as part of a DevOps centric model.
• Support the software development and technical implementation of the application.
• Strive for and ensure early testing (unit testing, shift left), do and encourage code reviews
• Ensure applications are documented properly, especially in regard to operations (operational manual)
• In Collaboration with the team plan and perform application lifecycle management, risk management and mitigation.
• Be proactive, moderate and align different opinions of the involved parties and lead them to a broadly supported solution
• Make suggestions for improvements (efficiency gains, technical debt resolutions etc).
• Promote and encourage DevOps mindset within the team. Take ownership and lead by example.

Professional Requirements:

• Education BSc/MSc in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
• Valid work permit for CH/EU
• Proven experience in trading / trading processes surrounding the financial industry
• Knowledge in Core Banking processes, especially Portfolio Management
• Knowledge of Intermediaries Business (B2B) in Banking
• Preferably knowledge in instrument pricing and its calculation
• Experience with requirements engineering translation of business requirements into IT solution design
• Team player, strong collaborator with the ability to take ownership and communicate on different levels/stakeholders
• Commitment with drive and passion for delivering high quality solutions with reasonable amount of effort
• Ability to analyze complex problems related to the applications and to seek and provide solutions with minimal guidance from the superiors with an attitude for support and hands-on

Technical Skills:

• System Engineering on JAVA technology stack with Oracle and Kubernetes orchestrated virtual servers
• Good understanding of RESTful services and APIs
• Technical knowledge of standards FIX & ISO20022 is an advantage
• Agile certification (e.g. SAFe) is a plus
  • Sound understanding of agile methodologies (preferably SAFe) and Java and related frameworks
  • Technical knowledge of standards FIX & ISO20022 is an advantage
  • Technical logfile analysis with Splunk and Dynatrace is an advantage
  • Knowledge of Service oriented architecture, RESTful services
  • SQL (Oracle)
  • Streaming using Kafka
  • Open API, UML
  • Angular, React, both JavaScript and Typescript

Languages:

• Fluent English skills (spoken and written)
• Intermediate German Min.B2 (spoken and written)
