For our customer Roche Diagnostics International AG based in Rotkreuz we are looking for a qualified Senior Linux Software Engineer (m/f/d)

Background:

We are a team of Linux SW and HW Experts looking for a new team member to help us get better, providing Roche Linux along with know-how, expertise and support to various internal software projects. If you are passionate about GNU/Linux and look for interesting technologies and exciting challenges creating and maintaining the Roche Standard linux distribution.

The perfect candidate is a seasoned Senior Linux Software Engineer with a Master’s degree in Computer Science and over five years of experience developing customized Linux distributions, specifically with Debian/Ubuntu. They must also have extensive front-end development experience with React or Angular. This individual is a quick-learning team player with a „can-do“ attitude, possessing a deep understanding of software building, testing, and packaging, and is able to communicate complex technical information in advanced English.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

• Contribute to Medical Instrument / Software Development Projects with technical knowhow
• Development and maintenance of in-house linux distribution and open-source tools
• Linux Software and Hardware troubleshooting, debugging and root-cause analysis
• Work on developing our hardware test farm and the debian build tool (Molior)

Must Haves:

• Master in SW Engineering or other degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience (min.

3 years)

• More than 5 years of experience as a Senior Linux Software Engineer
• +5 years experience in developing customized Linux distributions
• Strong Development experience in React/Angular (5+ years)
• Proven experience with Linux systems (Debian/Ubuntu) (5 years)
• Strong knowledge in Operating Systems and Software building, testing, packaging
• Team player with a „can do“ attitude, quick learner, enjoying problem solving, ability to work

independently

• English: advanced, ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences

Nice to have:

• Experience in Kubernetes, Python
• Debian package building
• German: not necessarily needed
• Experience in Embedded Software, Hardware Drivers, ARM Platform, hardware / software Integration
