Quant Developer/ Data Scientist – R/Python/CI/CD/Azure/Financial Risk – Remote/Zürich

Project: We are seeking an experienced Quant Developer (R Expert) to support the migration of risk analytics and data processes to a new target architecture. This role requires strong technical leadership in R, deep understanding of risk systems, and hands-on experience with large-scale data reconciliation and cloud-based deployments. The successful candidate will work closely with Risk and IT teams to ensure a seamless transition from legacy platforms.

Tasks:

• Act as R expert and tech lead for the migration of the in-house R-Framework from existing platforms to a modernised architecture.
• Reconcile large datasets across systems, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
• Adapt the R-Framework to fully leverage REST APIs and JSON structures for improved integration and performance.
• Support development and deployment workflows using Git, GitHub Actions, and Azure DevOps.
• Guide best practices for R development in cloud environments.
• Collaborate with Risk stakeholders and cross-functional teams to ensure business continuity and high code quality.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience as a Quant Developer in a risk or financial environment
• Strong R development skills, including frameworks, packages, and APIs
• Experience with Python and cloud-based architectures.
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools: Git, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps.
• Nice to have: Experience with Linux and Docker.
• Nice to have: Experience managing, processing, and reconciling large datasets.
