Role:
For our client in the Pharma industry based in Rotkreuz we are looking for a Systems Engineer – System
Development.

Blood gas & electrolyte (BGE) analysis is used in critical point-of-care settings where time and quality
matter. CPS R&D BGE is responsible for development of new and improved BGE analysis systems and life
cycle maintenance of existing BGE products. Within BGE R&D, System Integration is where everything
comes together: a team of dedicated scientists, engineers and lab technicians ensure that hardware and
software fit together with sensor and reagent technologies to form a robust and reliable BGE analysis
system.

We are looking for a new team member in our System Engineering group to help us ensure the
development success of our complex diagnostics systems, consisting of fluidics, software, instrument,
biochemical sensors and reagents. The person will own and manage system level topics and
documentation mainly in the form of architecture, configuration, requirements, and risk management,
and support the alignment and integration of the different system components.

Areas of responsibility:
* Contribution to systems engineering in product development project (and in product care, depending
on priorities) comprising but not limited to: System concepts & technical decisions, System model (Sys-ML
based), Interface descriptions, Reliability requirement definition & testing concepts, Statistical test design
and System Integration
* Alignment with and coordination of affected parties in all above topics
* Contribution and writing of development documents, such as: Product / Technical requirements,
Traceability analysis (verification), Product risk analysis and configuration management
* Ensures system reliability and supports system availability testing
* Drives alignment between components and integration into one system
* Planning, coordination and support in execution of test series to evaluate systemic reliability

Professional and technical requirements:
* Bachelor or Master (BSc/MSc) in Mechatronics, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Physics, Biomedical
Engineering, Biotechnology or equivalent
* 2-5 years practical experience in system integration by applying technical (engineering) skills, acting as a
systems thinker, and focusing on the “big-picture”
* Fundamental knowledge of relevant methodologies used in systems engineering and model based
systems engineering
* Experience with and understanding of multiple technology domains, methods, etc.
* Background in development within a highly regulated environment, ideally in IVD(R) area
* Fluent both in English and German
* INCOSE certification and/or model based systems engineering is a plus
* Practical experience with SysML in general or Enterprise Architect in particular a plus
* Experience in system integration of complex multidisciplinary systems a plus
* Clear and structured working style with good communication skills
* Is proactive and promotes collaboration with interdisciplinary teams
* Analytical thinking, ability to see the big picture as well as the details (i.a. separation of requirements,
break down structures)
* Team player
